How will this course benefit me?

The course meets the requirements set in § 7 of the ""Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations- FSE"", that relevant personnel shall be given annual training and instruction in FSE. The course also provides the necessary training and instruction in first aid, focusing on electrical injuries, with the exception of the mandatory practical training in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The regulations of various authorities make FSE applicable to all those working with electricity, whether on board ship, on platforms or on land. This course is suitable for all, regardless of which industry you work in. 

 

The authorities require that training in FSE and first aid in the event of electrical accidents is undertaken at least once a year. No more than 12 months shall elapse between training courses.

The course is designed for existing workers in the oil and gas industry. Completion of this course awards an IMIST certificate valid for four years, after which you will need to sit the course again to refresh your knowledge and earn a new certificate.

The offshore working environment is home to many hazards, which means that it is vital for everyone who goes offshore to have the same baseline level of safety knowledge. The e-learning course, “Fire Prevention during Hot Work”, has been quality controlled by the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association and designed is to satisfy the requirements set by the insurance industry.

The course aims to reduce the number of fires caused by hot work and improve knowledge about the risk of fire during hot work.

Please Note! Before we can inform the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association that you have completed the course, we must receive within 3 months of completing the e-learning a confirmation that you have received fire extinguishing training during the last two years. Please send the proof of the practical training to: learningcentre@mintra.com.


Participants who pass the course will be issued a certificate from the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association. The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.

 

All certificates will by default be sent in a digital app to a mobile phone number, no longer a plastic card. The digital certificate is included in the course fee.
If a plastic card is required, an extra fee at NOK 450 will be added to the course fee to cover our cost.

The purpose of the course is to prevent noise-induced hearing impairment. You will learn how loud sound and noise affect us. 

You will also learn how you can properly protect yourself against noise and why that is so important.

Piracy and armed robbery is a real threat to seafarer’s onboard ships and mobile units at sea. 1st January 2014 a requirement about seafarer’s security training was put in force for all ships to which the ISPS Code applies.


The training consists of an e-learning course and the performance of certain on board activities described in a checklist. The client’s approved instructors must sign completed checklists for each trainee.

When the training is completed a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.
