Kurset gir en grunnleggende innføring i sikker bruk av slanger og valg av slanger til forskjellige bruksområder. Videre har kurset fokus på identifisering av gjengetyper og kuplinger, samt grunnleggende praktisk opplæring i slangepressing.

Etter kurset skal deltakeren være i stand til å bruke slangepresseutstyr på riktig måte som ivaretar en sikker og riktig arbeidsprosess innen området. Kurset er delt inn i en teoretisk og en praktisk del og avsluttes med en skriftlig sertifiseringstest. Kurset gjennomføres i henhold til standardene TR 1803 og Oil and Gas UK Standard.

This introductory course provides the drilling personnel with basic understanding of well control. Progressing junior staff get a solid background and knowledge of why well control is essential, how well control is maintained, what the indicators are that well control might be lost, and how to regain the control once it has been lost.

Understand the negative consequences associated with loss of well control
Understand the need for detection
Recognize the warning signs of abnormal pressure
Know the actions that should be taken when kick indicators are present
Be familiar with the functions of the bop equipment
Be able to select well control method to regain control
Be able to fill in a IWCF surface and/or subsea kill sheet
Be able to calculate kill mud weight, initial circulation pressure and final circulation pressure
Correctly obtain shut in pressures in the well
Understand the barrier concept
Know the impact pumping cement could have on well control
Obtain sufficient knowledge to pass a written IWCF test with minimum 70% score

Assessment Requirements

Delegates will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence covering all of the Performance and Knowledge Criteria for the L&D9DI Unit. They must submit, as a minimum, assessment-related documentation that provides evidence for the elements listed below, for two candidates, covering two assessments per candidate: 

• Preparing to assess 

• Planning assessments 

• Assessing candidate’s performance and knowledge 

• Confirming progression and achievement

Delegates must use a range of assessment methods, including observation, questioning and work product. 

Delegates will also need to be observed carrying out part of the assessment process by an ITB (or NVQ-level) assessor and participate, with other assessors in their workplace, in standardisation practice.

Presentation

This training course provides a general overview of the SOLAS requirements concerning radio communications and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:
