Who is this course for?

This HSE Chemicals training course is for personnel who require an introduction to or awareness of working with chemicals in the oil and gas industry.

Is previous experience required?

No previous experience is required to complete this course.

The course is for all those who work with or can come in contact with chemicals. The course is also intended for those who work on a general basis with workplace environment issues, purchasing, or transportation. The course will give the target group fundamental knowledge of safe use of chemicals.

Learners will be able to describe ergonomic principles that will help in creating safer work environments, reducing the risk of workplace injuries.

Yes

Learning Objectives:

• Explain what ergonomics is and its significance in the workplace

• Identify the correct ergonomic working techniques 

• Explain the importance of the environment in improving ergonomics

• Identify additional measures to improve ergonomics

• Recognise who is responsible for reducing workplace injuries

STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 45 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 7 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 15 minutes) 

Please read through the Evaluation Procedure  for more information prior to starting the training programme.

Who is this course for:
Every seafarer with designated security duties onboard. This course is for those who are appointed to fulfil security duties, including anti-piracy and anti-armed robbery related activities on board a ship in accordance with the ship security plan.

Is previous experience required?
No previous experience is required to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?
By ensuring that you have achieved the  training requirements set out by the STCW Code.  This course will ensure that you are certified according to STCW A-VI/6-2.


How will this course benefit my company?
By ensuring you have the knowledge and are certified according to the STCW regulations.

What standards are referred to in this course?

• The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)

• The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code

• The International Safety Management Code (ISM)

• The International Convention on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW)

• The International Maritime Organization (IMO)

Is there an assessment?
The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.

Certificate:

When the training is completed a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.

Who is this course for?
All personnel who are at risk for being exposed to benzene.

Is previous experience required?
You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?
This course aims to provide learners with an awareness of benzene and provide best practice for work with benzene in oil and gas producing facilities.

How will this course benefit my company?
By ensuring you are aware of the impacts of benzene and familiar with best practice for work with benzene.

Is there an assessment?
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.
