Multiply choice assessment
This course introduces the key technical, operational, safety and
environmental considerations involved in subsea infrastructure removal and
site remediation as part of offshore decommissioning. It provides an
overview of the different types of subsea infrastructure that may require
removal, including mattresses, Christmas trees, flexible pipelines, and
learners build awareness of the typical recovery methods used for each.
The course also covers seabed clearance and remediation activities, vessel
selection, lifting and deck-handling hazards, Naturally Occurring
Radioactive Material (NORM) checks, data quality, early supply-chain
engagement and lessons learned from previous projects. It enables
learners to recognise how effective planning and execution can reduce risk
and support safe, efficient and environmentally responsible subsea
decommissioning.
