An Introduction to Engineering Down and Clean and Facilitation Projects

Course information

Target group:

Personnel working in or supporting offshore decommissioning, including operations, maintenance, process, mechanical, electrical, engineering, project, wells and safety teams. The course is also relevant to contractors and other personnel involved in late-life operations, installation preparation and the transition from production to decommissioning.

Description:

This course provides learners with an awareness of the engineering down
and clean activities required to prepare offshore installations for
decommissioning. Learners will build awareness of the processes involved
in well bay clearance, drain, clean, purge and vent activities, system
segregation, and the handling and management of plug and abandonment
fluids.
The course also enables learners to recognise the role of facilitation
projects, ultra-late-life planning and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions in
supporting a safe, efficient and controlled transition from operations to
decommissioning.
