Course goal:

This course aims to provide learners with an awareness of US best practice in relation to manual handling activities.

To increase learners’ awareness of the importance of safe manual handling operations and the risks involved with manual handling. The course also aims to give an overview of the OSHA requirements for the correct handling techniques for safe lifting, and for the pushing and pulling of loads.

Learning Objectives

 LO1 Define the term ‘manual handling’ and explain the importance of safe manual handling operations 

LO2 Identify the types of injuries that may result from improper manual handling operations 

LO3 Identify safe work practices in relation to manual handling operations

LO4 Describe the duties that are placed on employers and individual personnel in relation to manual handling operations

LO5 Explain the importance of risk assessing manual handling operations 

LO6 Identify the factors to consider when assessing manual handling operations and identify ways of reducing the risks of injury 

LO7 Describe good handling techniques for safe lifting

LO8 Describe good handling techniques for pushing and pulling loads

LO9 Explain the training requirements associated with manual handling operations

Hensikten med opplæringen er å gi blivende riggere en god praktisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av riggerutstyr. Opplæringen skal gi elevene god innsikt i prinsippene for riggutstyrets konstruksjon, virkemåte, bruk og vedlikehold, slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med riggoperasjoner unngås. Riggoperasjon: Bruk og sammenstilling av transportabelt løfteutstyr og/ eller manuelle/ kraftdrevne vinsjer, taljer etc. som benyttes ved horisontal og/ eller vertikal forflytning av last. Opplæringen dekker den nødvendige teoretiske og praktiske opplæringen som er nødvendig for å kunne gjennomføre selvstendige riggoperasjoner. Opplæringen avsluttes med en praktisk prøve.

Modul O-2.2: Fallsikring - Søylesvingkran / enkel traverskran - Taljer / vinsjer. (16 timer opplæring).

Modul O-3.2: Rigging (32 timer opplæring) Beviset kan utstyres med opplæringsbedriftens/virksomhetens logo.

Induction course in HSE is designed so that participants will have the first necessary expertise to ensure safety challenges in their daily work. This occurs in part through increased awareness of what is valuable and should be prioritized. The course also draws attention to the main framework governing the HSE The course is designed in order to create interest and motivation to work with HSE in the workplace.

Course contents

The course is divided into three topics:

-Care! - To take care of each other

-Terms and conditions - Laws, regulations and rules

-The challenging life - how to work without going wrong

Participants will

-Be motivated to work with safety in the workplace.

-Understand the relationship between a good safety work and preventing loss of important values such as life, health and nature in balance.

-Get an introduction to the main control elements of the HSE 

-Get advice on how they can work safely under time pressure and stress situations

- Internal control regulations

At the beginning of the course you can take a pre-test, where you get the opportunity to show your skills. If you pass the pre-test, you do not have to go through the entire course.

Proactive emergency response management involves identifying measures that can control the development in the desired direction and take action before circumstances force one to do it.
This course is the first step of the way to handle such situations and thus participate in 2nd or 3rd line emergency response organization onshore.

Target group:
Target group is all personnel who will participate in 2nd and 3rd line emergency response work in the company.
