This course aims to provide learners with an awareness of US best practice in relation to the safe operation of portable fire extinguishers.

LO2 Identify the fire triangle and explain how it works
LO3 Describe the dangers of smoke
LO4 Describe the ways in which a fire can be extinguished
LO5 Give an overview of the different fire classifications
LO6 Describe the different types of fire extinguishers
LO7 Explain the importance of carrying out a pre-engagement assessment
LO8 Describe how to safely operate different types of fire extinguishers
LO9 Explain the purpose of PASS
