The aim of this course is to increase learners’ awareness of the importance of safe manual handling operations and the risks involved with manual handling. The course also aims to outline best practices for the correct handling techniques for safe lifting; and for the pushing and pulling of loads.

Assessment Details

Course assessment with an 80% pass mark and two attempts.

Who is this course for?

Maritime personnel who require an introduction to or awareness of maritime Protection and Indemnity insurance.

Is previous experience required?

You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course.

This course aims to provide personnel with an awareness of the principles of maritime Protection and Indemnity Insurance.

How will this course benefit my company?

By ensuring you have an understanding of the maritime Protection and Indemnity Insurance. 

What standards are referred to in this course?

The Marine Insurance Act.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.

Who is this course for?

Personnel requiring an awareness or understanding of downhole mechanisms.

Is previous experience required?

It is recommended you've had some exposure to drilling operations to undertake this course.

How will this course benefit me?

This course aims to introduce learners to the factors affecting hole cleaning, lost circulation and hole enlargement in relation to drilling operations.

By ensuring you have been introduced to the factors affecting hole cleaning, lost circulation and hole enlargement in relation to drilling operations.

What standards are referred to in this course?

This course does not refer to specific legislation or standards but is written according to industry best practice.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

•  Décrire les contrôles réglementaires associés à la prévention et à l'intervention en cas de déversement

•  Expliquer l'objectif des plans d'urgence en cas de pollution par hydrocarbures (PUPH)

•  Identifier les actions à prendre et les exigences en matière de signalement en cas de déversement, et

•  Décrire les actions quotidiennes que tout le personnel peut prendre pour empêcher des déversements mineurs

STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 90 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 20 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 60 minutes)

Is there an assessment?

The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.

Certificate: 

When the training is completed, a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.
