Transporting dangerous goods by air has the potential to cause significant harm to people, property and the environment. By following the Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), you will significantly decrease the risks and be able to transport such goods safely.

All personnel are required to undertake competence-based DGR training relevant to their function. This course provides introductory-level awareness in the IATA training framework for personnel involved with helicopter operations.

Is there an assessment?

Three sections, each with its own assessment that must be passed at 80% with 2 attempts.

Dropped objects can cause serious injuries as well as damage to assets and equipment. This course will give you a basic understanding of the common causes of dropped objects, their potential consequences and how they can be prevented.

No previous experience is required to complete this course.

How will the course benefit me?

Many substances can cause harm to health if the appropriate precautions are not taken, including some substances that are not hazardous in themselves. This course will give you a basic overview of the COSHH regulations and how they help to protect workers.

Ensuring personnel are familiar with the requirements of the COSHH Regulations will help to reduce the risk of accidents, incidents and injuries in the workplace.

Yes - This course has an assessment with a 80% pass mark and two attempts

• Recognise control measures for mitigating risks from hazardous substances

Who is this course for?
Any members of management, supervisor and shipboard management responsible for ballast water.

Is previous experience required?
You do not need any prior knowledge or experience to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?
The primary goal of this course are awareness and knowledge of Ballast Water Management in accordance with the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments, referred to as the BWM Convention.

By ensuring you are familiar with the best practices related to Ballast Water Management.

What standards are referred to in this course?
In compliance with IMOs Ballast Water Management Convention (BWMC) 2004 and industry best practice, and complying with US trade and US Coast Guard.

Is there an assessment?
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
