STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 45 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 3 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 15 minutes)

Who is this course for:
Any crew onboard without designated security duties.

Is previous experience required?
No previous experience is required to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?
By ensuring that you have achieved the training requirements set out by the STCW Code.  This course will ensure that you are certified according to STCW A-VI/6-1.

By ensuring you have the knowledge and are certified according to the STCW regulations.

Is there an assessment?
The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.

Certificate:

When the training is completed a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.

Who is this course for?

Personnel requiring awareness and understanding of common spill events and actions taken to rectify.

Is previous experience required?

You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course.

How will this course benefit me?

To provide learners with an awareness of the potential environmental impacts associated with spills, and the legislative and control measures in place to avoid these. This course also focuses on spill contingency planning and the spill response measures that should be taken in the event of a spill.

Deck Officers and Deck Crew who are involved in using the Emergency Towing Systems (ETS)

This course aims to provide learners with an introduction to Emergency Towing Systems (ETS) in the Maritime Industry.

All personnel who work in the Oil & Gas industry in roles that are involved in oily discharges to sea.

To provide learners with an awareness of the potential environmental impacts associated with oily discharges to sea, as well as the legislation and control measures that are in place to minimise these impacts.

The course will benefit companies by ensuring that all relevant personnel are aware of ways to safely remove oily discharges which will help to take care of the environment.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

Who is this course for?

This FSE High and Low Voltage Training course is suitable for everyone working on low and high voltage installations.

Is previous experience required?

You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course, but it is assumed that you are competent in your designated role.

How will this course benefit me?

The course meets the requirements set in Section 7 of the ‘Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations – FSE’ which is that all relevant personnel undertake annual training and instruction in FSE. The course also provides the necessary training and instruction in first aid, focusing on electrical injuries, with the exception of the mandatory practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The regulations of various authorities make FSE applicable to all those working with electricity, whether on board ship, on platforms or on land. This course is suitable for all, regardless of which industry you work in.

The authorities require that training in FSE and first aid in the event of electrical accidents is undertaken at least once a year. No more than 12 months shall elapse between training courses.

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.

Course Goal: This course aims to provide an understanding of the duties and responsibility of a Ship Safety Officer and should be able to undertake the duties as a Ship’s Safety Officer or Safety Representative.

Who is the course for?

Any personnel taking on the duties of a Ship Safety Officer or Safety Representative including Ship Officers / HQSE Managers / Training Managers, and Engine and Deck Department Supervisors.

Is previous experience required?

Those eligible to perform duties as “Ship Safety Officer” or a “Safety Representative”, are limited to crew members who have no less than 2 years consecutive sea service since attaining the age of 18, which in the case of a safety representative on board a tanker shall include at least 6 months service on such a ship.

How will the course benefit me?

After successfully completing this course, and have the “Safety Officer – Checklist” completed and approved, you should be able to undertake the duties and responsibilities as Safety Officer, as defined in STCW Code 2010 Table A-II/2 and A-III/2. You will be a certified Safety Officer.

This course provides learners with an in depth few on the use, management and control of chemicals in the Oil and Gas Industry and how to react in an emergency situation that has resulted from a chemical hazard.

The course will benefit companies by ensuring that all personnel have an in depth view of industry best practice for working with chemicals, which will in turn, help keep those working with chemicals safe.
