Unit A: Managing Health and Safety

This unit provides an in-depth understanding of the key areas for managing health and safety, covering moral, economic, and societal drivers, health & safety law, and health & safety management systems.

Unit B: Hazardous Agents in the Workplace

Unit B details all major aspects of managing chemical, biological, physical and physiological hazards in the workplace.

Unit C: Workplace and Work Equipment Safety

Unit C provides a thorough understanding of how to create and manage safe working environments, covering welfare, fire, dangerous substances, work equipment, electricity, construction, and transport.

C1-Workplace welfare requirements and specific workplace issues, C2-Fire and explosion, C3-Workplace fire risk assessment, C4-Storage, handling, and processing of dangerous substances, C5-Work equipment (general), C6-Work equipment (workplace machinery), C7-Mobile, lifting, access, and work at height equipment, C8-Electrical safety, C9-Construction & works of a temporary nature - hazards and controls, C10-Workplace transport and driving for work.

With COVID-19 meaning that home working is no longer an option but a necessity for many, what are the potential side effects on our health and work performance. Employers may need to provide additional training to ensure appropriate supervision and work behaviours. These include remote technology, communication skills development, time management and ergonomics.

Effective remote working requires greater self-control and discipline to avoid the boundaries between work and personal life becoming blurred. Research has shown that, in general, homeworkers tend to work longer than office workers and this increases with the use of technology. Homeworkers do benefit from greater working time autonomy, but how effectively this is applied depends on the discipline of the individual.

Hensikt:

Målsetting med opplæring er at den som gis opplæring tilegner seg tilstrekkelig kunnskap om metoder for å lede og veilede løfteoperasjoner slik at de blir forskriftmessig utført.

Opplæringen gir også kunnskap om farer forbundet med løfteoperasjoner samt bruk av risikokartlegging.

Kurset gir deltakere kunnskap til å kunne utøve overordnet operasjonell ledelse av løfteoperasjoner. Med det menes å kunne planlegge, risikokartlegge og evaluere, samt forebygge ulykker. Videre vil deltaker også tilegne seg kunnskaper om å gjøre rede for materialhåndteringsplan, oppbevaring og bruk av utstyr.

Objective: The purpose of the training is to provide users of work equipment mentioned in § 10-1 and 10-3 in «Regulations on the performance of work» (no. 1357), a good general basic training in the safe use of work equipment, so that accidents and accidents in connection with use is avoided.

The authorities set requirements for basic safety certification of persons who are to drive forklifts, mass transfer machines and cranes. The requirements include both theoretical and practical training. To complete the common theory, one must take and pass a theoretical exam.

Module 1.1 Working environment, responsibilities and consequences are common to machine, forklift and crane. If you can document that you have module 1.1 from before that is not older than 3 years, you can start right on module 2.3.

Objective: The aim of the training is that theoretical and practical knowledge about fall protection and the correct use of rescue equipment, rescue of free-hanging persons, rescue of personnel over open sea, tank, stretcher transport, descent and treatment of personnel after fall accident is refreshed and repeated.

The training is adapted for personnel who are part of fall protection / rescue teams on board an installation. Participants must gain expertise in risk assessment, rescue (equipment and methods) and first aid.

Covers repetition requirements every 2nd year in accordance with NOG 113 and SFS.
