- Recall what is meant by the term ‘manual handling’

- Identify the types of injuries that may result from manual handling operations

- Identify the legislation that is in place to regulate manual handling operations

- Identify the duties that are placed on employers and employees by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations

- Recognise the types of risk assessment which are relevant to manual handling operations

- Identify factors to consider when assessing manual handling operations to reduce the potential risks of injury

- Identify good handling techniques for the safe lifting of loads

- Identify good handling techniques for pushing and pulling loads
