The e-learning course, “Fire Prevention during Hot Work”, has been quality controlled by the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association and designed is to satisfy the requirements set by the insurance industry.

The course aims to reduce the number of fires caused by hot work and improve knowledge about the risk of fire during hot work.

NB! Before we can inform the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association that you have completed the course, we must have confirmation that you have received fire extinguishing training during the last two years.

Participants who pass the exam will be issued a certificate from the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association. The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.

Christmas 2011, Norway was hit hard by extreme weather Dagmar. Immediately, a very large number of customers affected by power outages. The main reason for power outages and that they were so long, was that the network as a whole could not stand the strain. The companies' contingency plans, organization and crisis management was put to the test. NVE pointed out afterwards that the companies had to take the experience further work on risk and vulnerability assessments, contingency plans, exercises, information and emergency contact and cooperation with other businesses. This course provides basic knowledge in all these areas, and will set the course participants better able to participate in an emergency organization in the power supply.

 

Course aim:

After completing the course, participants should;

• Understand the principles, concepts and key measures for handling emergency situations.

• Have a common understanding of the organization's emergency response tasks and challenges in an emergency situation.

The course "Hose assembly – safe appliances" provides a basic introduction to the safe use of hoses and selection of fittings for different applications. Furthermore, the course focuses on the identification of fittings, as well as basic practical training in hose assembly.
