Who is this course for?
This ISM Awareness Training course is aimed at all ship-based crew and shore-based personnel across Management, Operational and Support levels seeking to develop their awareness of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and its application in the maritime work environment.

What standards are referred to in this course?
This course is based on SOLAS Chapter IX, Annex 1, and IMO Resolution A.741(18) which sets out the ISM Code and its associated guidelines. Circulars that are relevant to the ISM Code include:
- MSC/Circ.1014 on Guidance for the operational implementation of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code
- MSC-MEPC.7/Circ.8 on Interim guidance on the implementation of the ISM Code.
