G5 Offshorecrane re-training with simulator module P-4.1.1
Course information
Target group:
Holders of G5 certificate. They must meet the requirements for competence maintenance by completing Module P-4.1.1 “Offshore Crane Simulator” within three years, and thereafter renew this competence every third year. If this refresher training is not completed, the competence certificate remains valid, but the G5 certificate holder is not permitted to operate an offshore crane until the simulator training requirements have been fulfilled.Description:
The objective of the training is to ensure that participants refresh and maintain previously acquired competence, both theoretical and practical, related to safe operational procedures and emergency operations involving offshore cranes, in order to prevent incidents and accidents.
The training is conducted in accordance with the training plan for Module P-4.1.1 and fulfills the recurrent training requirements of NORSOK R-003.

• Incidents and accidents involving offshore cranes
• Laws, regulations and standards related to offshore cranes
• Operational limitations during crane operations
• Planning of lifting operations (TBT, SJA, work permits)
• Internal lifts, loading operations, lifting from/to supply vessels, critical lifts, personnel transport
• Emergency operations
• Communication
• Practical operations using simulator
• Theoretical and practical examination
