Online assessments are included throughout the course to verify participants’ understanding of the CPD content. Participants must successfully complete all required course activities and a final online assessment. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass the final assessment. Upon successful completion of all course requirements, a course completion certificate will be issued.
K-CAT CPD NI Accredited – Part 3 is part of Kongsberg Maritime’s structured five-year Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme, accredited by The Nautical Institute and designed to support the revalidation of NI Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) and DP Vessel Maintainer (DPVM) certificates.
Part 3 provides a structured learning path designed to refresh and strengthen DP knowledge, maintain operational competence and keep participants up to date with evolving regulations, industry guidance, technology and lessons learned from DP operations.
The course covers key areas including MTS guidance and Flag State requirements, regulatory and industry updates, Management of Change, DP emergency drills, roles and responsibilities of key DP personnel, redundancy concepts, position reference systems and sensors, DP networks and Independent Joystick Systems, power management, thrusters and thruster control systems, DP operational procedures, SIMOPS and mission-specific operations.
Delivered fully online, the course combines interactive digital learning, knowledge checks and quizzes with guided practical exercises, allowing participants to progress through the programme at their own pace within the designated CPD year.
Successful completion of all required learning activities and the final assessment contributes to the participant’s continuous professional development within The Nautical Institute’s five-year CPD pathway.
