Unit 1: Direct and control the movement and placing of loads
Unit 1 focuses on the Banksmans role specifying the Performance and Underpinning Knowledge/Understanding criteria for maintaining clear and accurate communications with the crane operator, and maintaining an awareness of other ongoing operations that may affect lifting activities.
Unit 2: Prepare and sling loads
Unit 2 focuses on the Slingers role specifying the Performance and Underpinning Knowledge/Understanding criteria for establishing the weight of the load; determining and checking the lifting method, the lifting accessories; the slinging of loads, and clearing the work area.

This course is designed for personnel that wish to become OPITO certified competent Banksmen & Slingers - having previously completed Banksman & Slinger training, and/or possess sufficient and relevant work experience to be eligible for the OPITO Stage 3 assessment.Description:
