The training programme also meets the requirements of the IMO STCW standards.
The training forms part of the requirements for basic training for Seafarers.
Description:
The aim of the training is to give delegates intending to go to sea the essential basic knowledge and experience of personal survival principles and techniques that can be applied to maximise their chance of survival in the event of a marine casualty. With the emphasis on cold exposure and precautions to protect against it, together with knowledge of survival equipment and its use. The course is delivered by a combination of theory and practical training., Delegates will receive theoretical and practical knowledge in the following areas
Appreciation of emergency conditions
Life-saving & personal protective equipment carried on ships and in survival craft
Emergency preparedness: Muster and abandonment actions
In-water survival techniques
