STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 90 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 20 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 60 minutes)

Is there an assessment?

The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.

 

Certificate: 

When the training is completed, a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.

This course provides an introduction to the understanding of gas in high risk work situations.  It describes real dangers and explains about the most common types of gas.  The course provides increased understanding and knowledge of elements of risk when working in areas exposed to gas, and knowledge of how best to protect yourself, and others, using proper equipment. Users shall become acquainted with the possibilities and limitations presented by gas measurement equipment, in relevant situations.
