STCW Training programme for courses approved by the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA).

This training programme consists of three elements:

• This eLearning module (ETC: 45 minutes)

• Practical training onboard (ETC: 15.5 hours), and

• The final exam (ETC: 30 minutes) 

 

Please read through the Evaluation Procedure  for more information prior to starting the training programme.

 

 

Who is this course for?

Any person conducting an in-service assessment of the competence of an onoboard candidate.

 

Is previous experience required?

 Documented 12 months sea service in an officer position is required. 

 

How will this course benefit me?

The aim of this course is to enable you to supervise  training and monitor the competence of seafarers. A seafarer's competence must meet the standards of the STCW Code.

Is there an assessment?

The exam includes questions on the theory aspects covered during the initial eLearning AND the activities completed during the onboard assessment. You should not attempt the exam until you have completed both aspects of the training.


Certificate:

When the training is completed a certificate is issued by the Norwegian Maritime Authority.

The Norwegian Maritime Authority charge an additional fee to issue the formal STCW Certificate.
