The ISM Code (International Safety Management Code - A.741 (18)) is an international safety management standard for the safe operation of ships (mobile offshore units) and pollution prevention.

Twelve years after the ISM Code became mandatory, conducted IMO the first revision (review) of the code. The changes became effective as of July 2010. The last "update" (changes) of the ISM Code (2014) is applicable from 2015.

The course examines the ISM Code structure and requirements set in the code. As well as how the company delegate its responsibilities, and how those involved fulfill their responsibilities.

Course participants should after completing the course understand the background and purpose of the ISM Code. The company's responsibility, as well as being able to contribute to implement, evaluate and continuously improve a company's safety management system
