Every company should focus on HSE!  Industriskolen’s new course, Basic Working Environment HSE, satisfies governmental regulations for HSE training for safety representatives and members of the Working Environment Committee (AMU).  Trond Mostrøm is the Installation Manager at Fabricom and is currently on the Snorre B platform, in the North Sea.  He is one of the many who have taken advantage of Industriskolen’s HSE offer.

Fabricom is one of the companies taking advantage of Industriskolen’s course, Basic Working Environment HSE.  “This is a good course through and through,” says Installation Manager, Trond Mostrøm.  He places particular emphasis on the advantage of being able to complete a significant portion of the course online.  “The course is very flexible – I can take it when it suits me!”

Time to Think
“The course encourages you to think about your own workday and doesn’t pretend to have a set answer,” explains Mostrøm.

“After the online part of the course, I participated in a two day workshop with other industry personnel.  It was good to learn through group work and discussion, rather than by just listening to a lecture.  We had a lot of interesting discussions.  Combining the online course and with a workshop, makes this a reasonably priced course compared to other alternatives.  I am very satisfied with both the structure and content of the course.  I was also impressed that there was so much focus on the psychosocial aspect of HSE.”

Approved Training
The Basic Working Environment HSE course satisfies requirements for HSE training for safety representatives and members of the Working Environment Committee, in accordance with governmental regulations and the Basic Agreement LO-NHO.  This new HSE course from Indsutriskolen was developed in collaboration with Falck Nutec.

Fabricom’s Training Manager, Aina Sponheim, says that many more Fabricom employees will be taking the course in the coming year.  “Mostrøm came back from the course and told us that it was one of the best courses he had ever taken.  The course is so flexible; it can be easily adapted to individual employees’ workdays.  Our employees travel a lot and work intensively, so it is great that they can complete the course when it suits them.”

Fabricom is part of the international GDF SUEZ group, which has over 200 000 employees worldwide.  In Norway, they have around 1000 employees, as well as 500 contract workers.

Fabricom performs engineering work, executes projects and provides specialised maintenance services for prominent companies in the Norwegian oil and gas industry.  Fabricom delivers projects and solutions based on modern technology for efficient and environmentally friendly production, transport, and storage of oil and gas.
