The HSE Conference for Offshore Contractors is a gathering point for contractors looking to find out where health, safety, and environment developments are headed for the operators and primary contractors on the Norwegian continental shelf.  Based on feedback from last year’s conference, certain topics will also address international HSE challenges.  Offshore Media Group is the technical organiser, and Mintra is organising the professional content.  The conference is in collaboration with the Federation of Norwegian Industries. More than 100 persons has already signed up for the conference.

Among this year’s topics are:

• HSE in uncertain economic times.
• Who is at risk for chemical exposure and what are the consequences?
• How can the StatoilHydro merger strengthen HSE on the Norwegian shelf?
• How can we ensure good HSE in a growth phase, after takeovers and mergers in the contractor industry?
• How can we ensure a common HSE culture in different companies?
• How can we exchange HSE experiences across boarders?
• The need for an experience database when incidents only end up as statistics.
• The IA (Inclusive Working Life) agreement, absences due to illness and personnel politics.
• Security – How to secure oneself against something others want to happen?
• Working conditions, human rights, the environment, and corruption.
• How can new operators on the shelf collaborate on HSE?
• A special HSE TV channel – What effect is it having, really?
• And more!

In brief, the HSE Conference for Offshore Contractors has a practical angle that places just as much emphasis on the business aspect as well as the human side of health, safety and environment, both on the Norwegian continental shelf and internationally.  It is combined with a friendly social event on the evening of March 3, 2009.

We look forward to two informative and valuable days, which will make a positive contribution to HSE work in the industry.
