Fire Prevention during Hot Work

Through the course, “Fire Prevention during Hot Work”, those performing hot work will learn what precautions take to prevent fires, as well as how to quickly extinguish any potential fires.  After completing the course, participants are issued a certificate from the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association.

Target Group: Everyone who performs hot work outside permanent hot work areas.
Objective: The course aims to reduce the number of fires caused by hot work and improve knowledge about the risk of fire during hot work.
Course Content:

The course focuses on duties and responsibilities during hot work and is divided into the following topics:

  • What is Hot Work?
  • Fire Theory
  • Your Responsibilities
  • Before Hot Work
  • During Hot Work
  • After Hot Work
  • What Do You Do in Case of Fire?
  • Fire Extinguishing Equipment and Methods
Duration: Approx. 6 timer
Prerequisites: None
Final Assessment: Web-based exam.  Participants who pass the exam will be issued a certificate from the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association.  The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.

  The e-learning course, “Fire Prevention during Hot Work”, has been quality controlled by the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association and designed is to satisfy the requirements set by the insurance industry.  The course aims to reduce the number of fires caused by hot work and improve knowledge about the risk of fire during hot work.  When participants pass the exam at the end of the course, they will be issued a certificate from the Norwegian Fire Prevention Association.  The certificate must be renewed every 5 years.
